Welcome. I am the Professor of Mathematical Modelling at the University of Oxford and a member of the Mathematical Institute. I am the director of the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (OCIAM), the director of the International Brain and Mechanics Lab (IBMATL, with Antoine Jérusalem), a fellow of St Catherine’s College (Catz), and a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS).

As the new Professor of Geometry at Gresham College, London, starting in Autumn 2024 I will be giving a public lecture series on “Mathematics and the Brain.” The series will explore the human brain as an organ of extreme complexity and a source of endless mathematical challenges.

At the Mathematical Institute, I was the first director of External Relations and Public Engagement until 2022 and created the public lecture series.
